ryan and i have been busy starting up school and getting back into a routine.
i'm working in a new school district this year which i'm discovering that i like more and more than the district i worked in last year. while i do miss my special ed team and kids a lot, i'm feeling more at home in my new place. i'm actually at two schools this year, which becomes quite hectic at times. i have a pretty big caseload, but the dynamic of the caseload between the two schools is very different from what i had last year. i went from servicing all the general ed, resource, mild/moderate, and moderate/severe kids to just servicing the general ed and resource kids. i also have an assistant, kati, help me out 1 1/2 days a week, so it makes my job easier and significantly more fun.
ryan's school started a new curriculum this year. instead of sitting in a classroom and listening to lectures, they are given cases that they have to take and learn everything they can about whatever is involved. he enjoys the learning style a lot more, but there have been some days with overwhelming amounts of reading.
we do miss carpooling, since i don't work just up the street anymore. and it is a bit harder to organize disney trips with our new schedules. we'll make do though and get there often enough.
lest you think that i have been slaving away at school/work, i give you some proof of the progress of my dresser project.
stripping/cleaning...check
sanding...check
painting...check
now i just have to get it all put back together
(and figure out somewhere to put it once its done)
my other project are coming along too, but those updates will have to come another day.

I am so glad you are enjoying your job more this year! And I can't wait to see your finished projects. Thanks for all your wonderful comments that you have left me lately. I am excited to see your family and live near them. I am also excited that this could mean that we may actually get to see each other every once in a while. :)
Lookin' good, lookin' good! I am impressed that you have an assistant. That must make you very important. :)
Looking good.
