graduation

even though i've been an unofficial graduate for almost a month, here's an update on graduation. i graduated with my masters degree in clinical speech pathology. i'll actually get my degree in about august when i finish my externship, which i'm working on right now.

i somehow conned some people in the music department to let me sing the national anthem at my graduation ceremony, much to the confusion of the people in charge...."you mean you don't have a degree in music??" it was fun to sing it like i did with heather and tawna back in high school. this time we didn't practice it an octave higher like we sometimes did back then.

i did the national anthem without a sling, but put it on to simplify the walking across the stage process. it was easier to wear it then to explain that i couldn't shake anyone's hands. if you look real close you can still see a little of my black eye in the next couple of pictures.

caryn and i were assigned to the same clinical rotations every semester, both participated in a certificate program, and both worked with the arizona early intervention program all year. not to mention we were the only mormons and the only married people. needless to say, we became great friends and i already miss seeing her all the time!

i can't post about graduation without mentioning how great ryan was as a support through the two years of grad school. he had to put up with all kinds of crying and complaining and late nights and early mornings....although he still got up for work long before i ever thought about getting up. thanks, ryan.

Congrats Katie! I wish we could have been there to hear you and see you walk.

You are a ROCKSTAR!!!

Seriously. I can't get over the fact how grown-upy and accomplished you are.

P.S. I loved seeing you last weekend, and I loved even more the fact that it was totally normal as if we see each other all the time.

P.P.S. I also love that you have a blog!
