sleepy time

cody's started having some pretty awesome sleep positions in the past few weeks.

sometimes he ends up on his side...

sometimes he turns 90 degrees....sometimes 180...

one day i put him in his pack-n-play for a nap.  i could hear him scratching the mesh sides with his fingers.  when it stopped and i went to check on him, he'd scooted over so he could reach the side better.

sometimes he likes to play on the slats of his crib with his toes before he goes to sleep or when he wakes up.

just this last week, he figured out that he can roll over in his crib.  he's been rolling from back to front on the floor for several weeks, but somehow the crib was a lay-on-your-back-only place for a bit longer.  now, the activity shown in the picture above sometimes results in rolling over and a leg getting stuck between the bars.  so we went ahead and invested in some crib bumpers to keep his arms and feet inside the bed at all times.

sometimes he rolls and gets himself right up next to the bars, so when he tries to lay his head down he bumps it against them.  so sad!!

so until he figures out how to roll from his tummy to back a little more consistently, he's stuck being a belly sleeper like his mom.
