i think its about time for an update on our not-so-little-anymore 15 month old!
cody went and saw the doctor on friday for his regular check-up. current stats are:
height - 33 in. (95th percentile)
weight - 27 lbs. (75th percentile)
head - 19.5 in. (off the chart)
he's pretty much stayed on the same curve in size. big and tall.
here are some snapshots of things that he loves right now.
most of the pictures aren't of the greatest quality as they have to be snapped on a cell phone, itouch, or with the camera very secretly. once he sees the camera, cody wants nothing more than to come right over and see what you've taken a picture of
cody loves shoes. he can go get his own shoes, mom's shoes, or dad's shoes and he never mixes up which shoes go to which person. he's started trying on shoes a lot more and will walk all over in shoes way too big for him.
he's become quite a helper. sometimes while i'm getting dinner ready, he'll pull out the broom or swiffer and 'clean' the floor. he's really good at throwing things in the garbage for me and helping set the table. we love mornings when we have pancakes because we can keep him busy for so long putting each topping on the table and then each table setting. he'll run back and forth for each thing.
one cupboard next to the stove has been designated as 'cody's cupboard' that is ok for him to play in. he routinely pulls every cutting board and cooling rack out, as well as the bosch lids. one day he managed to get the lid around his next and wore it for the evening.
cody has built up a collection of hats that he wears almost all the time around the house. sometimes its his own bucket hat. sometimes its an old cowboy hat.
most often over the past few days its been dad's baseball cap, usually sideways like in the picture.
crawling through tunnels in the hallway to stay distracted while mom puts away too-small clothes.
anything that cody can fit over his arm goes up to his shoulder and he carried it around like this....toys, necklaces, baskets...
cody still loves the water. we went to a splash pad a couple of weeks ago with michelle and her boys. school's back in, so it was just us. cody loved having free reign of the whole thing and ran from one water toy to another. luckily he's getting the pool figured out a little better and will stay on the steps a bit instead of trying to dive wherever he can find an opening.
and as always, he loves reading books. anytime someone is sitting in the living room, cody will come over with a book and climb right up. we could swear he even says 'read it.' sometimes when its 'too quiet' downstairs i peek over the ledge and see cody sitting by the bookshelf surrounded by his books and flipping through them.
this week, he figured out the actions to 'the itsy bitsy spider' and can do them all by himself. we're working on getting a video of it, but due to his curiosity of what is on the camera....its a bit tricky.
a few words cody has learned....
ball, amen, hi, mom, dad, banana, monkey, boo, boom (when you give knuckles), doggie
he can show you....
head, hair, eyes, ears, mouth, teeth, nose, belly, belly button, feet, toes
and can tell you the sounds for....
cow, sheep, chicken, duck, pig, horse, coyote, snake, fish, bird, dog, bee

I LOVE that age. They learn so much all the time. Ashlee use to hold things over her arm like that too.
