girls weekend part 1

cody and i started off halloween with a trip to the park.  i wanted to wear cody out enough to make sure he'd take a good nap before grandma flew in.  grandma was the first to arrive for our extended girls' weekend.

he decided to take his popper toy, so it turned out to be a bit of a noisy walk.

we stopped and tried some of the exercises along the path.

and did lots of sliding (cody figured out how to go down slides by himself a couple of weeks ago and loves them now!)

we picked up grandma and she got right to work helping cody carve his pumpkin.  he did a bit of sampling, but wasn't too impressed

grandma even let cody pick the face for his pumpkin all by himself.

turned out pretty cute if you ask me.

we did some trick-or-treating with coralynne and everyone loved the cute tinker bell and peter pan.

on thursday, we set up a blanket i'm working on for cody to try and get as much done as we could before the rest of the girls came for the weekend.

cody loved wearing his thimble....or toe hat...depending on where grandma helped him put it on.  he was a great help...except for the time when he got ahold of the scissors and poked a bit of a hole in the blanket.

grandma was nice enough to babysit cody while i worked and pick up annie, beth, and molly when they flew in.  everyone was up bright and early the next morning and cody convinced annie to take him for a walk in his too-big-shoes over his sleeper with his yellow worker hat.

we, of course, had lots of good helpers in the kitchen at every meal.

cody gave holding molly a try and it wasn't actually quite as unsuccessful as it looks.  he was so soft and gentle with her and gave her pacifier back to her anytime she lost it.  he even shared his room with her, which worked out better than i expected.  i think by the time his little brother is here, he'll be ready.

beth taught cody how to do his stretches.  the most important part, i think, is the sticking your tongue out part.

julie arrived friday, completing our group for the girls weekend

we spent far more time than we expected working on a christmas project beth found for us.  we got everything cut out by friday night in the midst of beth teaching us how to make some yummy bread.

luckily we found someone willing to sit with sleeping babies long enough for us to go to yogiyo for frozen yogurt that night.

to be continued...
