on saturday, we drove down to the orange county great park. we rode the carousel a few times.
even though cody has ridden the carousel before, he was suddenly terrified of letting go of me to get on a horse, or tiger, or any other animal. we just rode on the bench several times. i did finally convince him to ride the pig before we left and he seemed to love it.
(wearing his 'dudes' - as he calls them. when he puts them on, we say 'cool dude' and i guess that's what stuck)
waiting for our balloon ride
up at 400 feet
i love this bike rack. if ever i have one...this is what it will look like
annie chased cody around the playground for a while and then we spent some time at the farm lab.
from there we headed over to newport beach. it was too cold for swimming, so we just sat and enjoyed the waves.
took some walks to touch the water.
cody was totally content with his bucket and cup
until he discovered this huge hole some other people had left behind
after that, we could only drag him away with the promise of raisins.
we got a babysitter again when we got home so we could go out and enjoy a leisurely dinner of thai food. it was completely delicious!
sunday turned out to be a much more eventful sunday than i expected with four extra pairs of hands to help entertain cody. at the end of sacrament meeting, he took a spill off the bench and cut his head pretty well. our neighbor took a look to make sure it wasn't too deep and got him patched up so we could head back to church, blotchy red face and all.
luckily one of us had the brilliant idea to have someone take a picture of all of us together while we were at church.
when we got home, we worked and worked to finish up our christmas craft before annie and julie flew home.
everyone's turned out just a little bit different and so cute.
beth's finished project.
cody loved all the story and singing time he got with grandma around.
he kept taking off his butterfly closures, so we had to work hard to get cody to keep his band-aid on for any period of time.
beth and molly left early monday morning. cody took the chance to hold molly one more time before she went home. he even got to where he would say her name.
cody had so much fun reading books and singing songs with grandma. he learned several new ones.
he was, of course, doing all the actions right before i started filming and then started smiling and blinking cuz he thought i was going to just take a picture. now he plays 'peas porridge hot' with grandma and with dad over skype.
so glad we could have so much fun with all the girls while ryan was away. thanks for coming to visit!!
