thanksgiving

i love the thanksgiving season.  i had plans to do a gratitude tree this year each day of november, but i forgot until about november 9th.  i decided instead to just do it for fhe the monday before thanksgiving.  its fun to hear what the kids are thankful for.

somehow i just don't take pictures at holidays when we get together with family.  it has been so fun to live close to david and julie and trade back and forth for holiday hosting.  this year we spent thanksgiving down in cypress.

we found a thanksgiving craft book at the library and we pulled it out to keep ourselves occupied while we waited for ryan to get home to leave.  we used the pumpkins we brought home from the hockley oil ranch to make some turkeys.  somehow we forgot to take them with us....

bonnie is getting so mobile now. luckily she can't quite do stairs yet, so she's stuck downstairs at david and julie's, but she made her way around and around.

we traded off dates with david and julie.  ryan and i saw mockingjay 2 and then did a bit of boot shopping for ryan.  we found cody james boots.  so fun!

i love being able to do maddie's hair when we get together.  we've started a pinterest board of our favorite styles to try out when we get together.  this is her favorite though.  she asks for a crown braid nearly every time we're together.  i tried it with a twist this time. 

we were able to go down for several days this trip since ryan didn't have to work at all over thanksgiving weekend.  we're pretty sure it was the longest we've stayed down there since we moved to texas.  its especially nice in their new house since there are rooms for all of us and and nice big closet for bonnie.  it was fun to stay up every night playing games and now that the kids are a little older, we can even play games while they're upstairs playing other times of the day.  we're still partially hoping lone star family offers ryan a job so we can stay out here and live close to these guys!
