christmas eve

since mom, dad, and annie were all going to be out here for christmas, i laid claim on having annie come up to stay with us.  we had lots of fun with some extra family for the holiday.

annie's such a good sport when she comes to visit and plays game after game with cody and isaac.  they were in heaven.

we got to open one present before bed on christmas eve.  everyone helped bonnie open hers.

and had lots of fun opening their own.

i got the fabric for these jammies two years ago and had it saved in the closet since we didn't really need jammies last year.  it was fun to pull it out and make some for everyone - especially a fun smocked top for bonnie.

i had so much fun this year and made some smocked nightgowns for kimmie's girls and bonnie.  i made each one a little different (kate's is short with leggings and olivia's is long with a ruffle at the bottom).  last minute i decided i'd try out using the extra fabric to make some matching pants for kimmie with a knit waistband.  luckily my experiment worked out.  i held off using bonnie's nightgown for her until we found out whether kimmie is having a boy or girl so if it was a girl i could give them the matching one.  ryan did an ultrasound for them a couple of days before christmas and found out they were having a boy.  i made some bowties for them to open on christmas for a fun surprise to find out it was a boy.

  everyone laid down and read their books until bedtime.

the boys put out some cookies for santa and carrots for the reindeer (even though isaac wasn't quite sure that we should).  everyone was quite excited, but managed to go to sleep pretty fast since santa won't come until you're sleeping :)
