happy birthday to dad

as often happens, ryan had to work on his birthday.  its like torture for the kids to have to wait all day to ryan open his presents.  

while we had to wait all day for presents, we did in fact get to see him a bit sooner.  grandpa bought us all lunch and we took it to the clinic to have a birthday lunch with ryan.  its always a treat to go see dad at work.

grandma berta made one of these for each family.  ryan got to be first to use it. 

he requested cheese soup with fresh veggies and hot rolls.  he wanted to take cupcakes to work, so we tried out 'the cake' in mini cupcake form and made a little cake that was just the right size for the four of us to eat (and the cupcakes were delicious)

the boys gave him hungry hungry hippos, so i'm sure we'll be playing that for fhe for weeks or months.

happy birthday to our favorite dad!  we're so lucky you're all ours!
