the last few weeks of kindergarten are sure a whirlwind around here!! aside from "muffins with mom" (already talked about) they had "donuts with dad" last monday. cody loved having ryan stop in with him for breakfast.
tuesday was a trip to the city pool (where cody threw up at the end in the locker room) and a picnic at the park. wednesday (which cody missed) was a normal day. thursday was a hike to big springs in pinetop. i had hoped to go as a chaperone, but we were not all feeling up to it and just sent cody (who was feeling much better). friday was the kindergarten/1st grade water day - which i also missed.
this week, monday was pajama day with lots of reading time. tuesday was field day. we were finally all feeling better, so isaac, bonnie, and i went over to help. luckily i got there in time to pick and inside job to help with. the kids got to race and play around on these funny monster feet. it definitely got to be pretty hilarious sometimes.
isaac and bonnie had to do what they could to stay entertained for the whole morning.
once our station died down a bit, we went outside to check things out. isaac and bonnie got pretty comfortable hanging out with mrs. miller at the parachute station.
after the games, we stayed to have lunch with cody on the playground.
he was so excited to be able to show us all his tricks.
this morning was kindergarten graduation. i can't hardly believe how fast this year has gone! you can see cody on the back row, about a half a head taller than the two girls next to him and a full head or more taller than everyone else! funny thing is, he's one of the youngest kids with a june birthday.
they came in singing the cutest cover of 'dynamite' and waving their hands in the air.
he worked so hard and learned so much this year. he was the only kindergartner who got to go with the 1st graders to the library for three quarters of the year. he loved bringing home books and was always quite disappointed if they forgot to pick him up.
i think everyone will have some fun with this new dress-up.
we have just loved mrs. miller from the first moment we met her. i have told her over and over that she has to continue teaching kindergarten at linden until all of our children are through.
mrs. miller's mother, mrs. reese, helped in the classroom the whole year. We love her too! That classroom full of kids would not have functioned quite so smoothly without her helping hands.
i think isaac and bonnie will both miss being able to go and help with centers in the afternoons. isaac was sometimes even ahead of some of the kids in kindergarten!
so proud of my kindergarten graduate!
