a place to rest

i had this all planned out to give a little sneak peak of a project we were starting.  i was going to show the before pictures a month or so ago and then show the finished project when it was done, but alas...

some of our friends recently moved away to where they were starting a residency program.  they were kind enough to donate two chairs to us before they left.  they've been through three kids, so the yellow fabric had seen better days.  here's the before...

since we're moving in a little over a week (don't worry, its just across the street), ryan thought that it might be a good idea to get these done now so we wouldn't have to worry about it later.  i was surprised at how quickly we were able to get them done.  hopefully they'll be a nice addition to our new living room in a few weeks. 

i'm trying to finish bunches of little projects i've had in the works, but i'm getting pretty excited to start a new one that i've been saving for the month i have off once ryan starts school again.
