swing swing

one day last week we went to the park with some friends.  we decided to give the swings a shot.

as you can see, they were a big hit.

so grandma and grandpa bishop decided to give cody his christmas present a little early.  now we have a swing for the front porch that we can use every day!

now while cody's swinging, i can water our plants

(we finally tore out our tomato plant from last summer.  at least we got a good crop the second time around)

and we can keep an eye out for a couple of friends we sometimes see around

like our friendly neighborhood hawk

and mr. hummingbird

 he's generally not too happy that we're taking over his turf, so he flies around in the distance to threaten us.  then he comes for a snack when we go back inside.
