two shy...

hard to believe it, but our little boy is only two months shy of one whole year now!!  he is such a happy, easy-going kid.  we celebrated his 10 month "birthday" by letting him eat exactly what we ate for dinner - chicken, mashed  potatoes, and a squash/zucchini combo



so it was in a little different form....he still loved it, especially when we let him manage the spoon on his own.

he is so friendly and loves to wave at people.  i first figured out what his wave looked like a few months ago when i realized he was doing the same action to everyone who said hi at the grocery store.  usually he's a one-hand waver, but sometimes he gets extra excited.

his current favorite toy is a set of nesting balls.  they can stack on top of each other, make several sizes of balls, just about everything a little boy can think of to keep him entertained.  aside from reading books (i.e. turning the pages) to himself, this toy entertains him for the longest period of time.

cody's getting to be a better stander all the time.  we figure he doesn't have much motivation to stand and walk too much since all his toys are on the floor anyway.  but that's ok with us.  he cruises along everything like no one's business and has been known to take a step or two away from a piece of furniture on his own.

a week or so ago, cody got to meet his...second cousin??  marianne, aunt shirley, and capri stopped by for a quick visit on their way up to san jose.  cody loved looking at the baby and having aunt shirley to play and play with him.  it was so fun to meet capri and fun to realize that i'm 9 months older than marianne just like cody's 9 months older than capri.  hopefully they'll be buddies like we are!
