bakersfield

cody and i just took a little mini vacation up to bakersfield.  we have some friends, the scott's, who moved from our ward to texas a year or so ago.  now they've moved back to california, just a few hours north.  we haven't been anywhere since thanksgiving, so i've been dying to take a quick trip for a while.

lindsey is having a baby in a few weeks and asked me to make her a carseat cover with some fabric she got.  

there was enough leftover to make a little quilt for her little boy.  i pretty much fell in love with it, so she's lucky it made it up there ;)  luckily she loves it too, so i know it will get some good use in the coming months.

i did actually remember to take my camera, but didn't pull it out even once.  i managed to snap a few pictures at the park on wednesday morning with my cell phone.

since cody's getting more and more mobile, i let him wander around a bit.  now he's able to climb the stairs pretty well.

i have to stay pretty close by, though, so he doesn't end up with a stomach full of woodchips (or sand) like he's grabbing here.

and here's the only shot i got of any of the scott's.  ella was nice enough to take cody down one of the bigger slides a few times.

 

it was a quick trip so other than going to the park, we just hung around their new house (so nice!) and ran some errands together.  it was so fun to relax and have some good adult conversation for a few full days :)  hopefully we can get together again soon.  i can't wait to meet that little boy!!
