odds and ends

just a few odds and ends that i wanted to stick in somewhere....

cody found a bungee cord that he likes to play with.  one day i hooked it onto a basket and he pulled his monkey around and around the dining room with it.

on a related note....cody says 'monkey' now.  we thought one day he was playing in the living room saying 'daddy! daddy!'  then i saw his monkey finger puppet in his hand and realized that he was actually saying 'monkey! monkey!' as evidenced by the fact that he continues to say it anytime he finds his monkeys.  yes, it may sound a bit like 'daddy' to the unfamiliar listener....and the familiar listener, but its definitely 'monkey.'  i'll have to see if i can catch it on video sometime.

one of my friends made her little boy a superhero doll from the black apple doll pattern, so thought that would be fun to do for cody.  once i got down to it, i decided it would be fun to just make a little boy.  since i had to alter the pattern from the original little girl, i made a girl first to see how it would go.  now he has a little set of friends.  he loves to hold them up and show them to people.

sometimes when he's getting his diaper changed, cody like a little reading material.  he holds it nicely up above him and turns the pages.

we decided it was finally time for a new carseat for cody.  it came in a huge box in the mail.  cody tried it out a bit before we put it in the car.

we put it forward facing for a day or two (now its rear facing until he's a bit taller)

he was in awe pretty much the entire time we were in the car at all the things he could see.  i think he'll like this new seat.

cody's figured out now how to climb up on a few things.  this morning i found him climbing into the glider in his room.  he sat and rocked himself for a good couple of minutes, and probably would have stayed longer if he'd had a good book :)

So, you've essentially raised a bathroom reader :) I LOVE that he likes to read during diaper changes. Makes me happy. He's got it all figured out!

Maybe Meredith's seat is larger than his, but I don't think by much - he takes up every bit as much room as she does. Crazy!
