halloween time at disneyland

cody and i took the morning off yesterday and headed to disneyland with veronica, sean, and erik.  we got there a little earlier and rode peter pan first off.  i guess i had totally forgotten how dark it is (i swear it was brighter when i rode it the first time).  cody got a bit scared, so we tried to keep the rest of the day outside and upbeat.

as we headed to the front to meet our friends, we saw bert and mary poppins with absolutely no one around.  i thought we better take a picture in honor of caitlin and ashlee's former love of mary poppins (ashlee used to call him 'burp' when they played).  bert even gave cody one of those 'new-fangled' high fives and mary poppins told him he had the most 'brilliant eyes.' gotta love the british talk :)

our friends ran into mickey mouse on their way in and saved us a spot - just in time as he was about to leave.  cody was fascinated with his nose and not the least bit intimidated.  i think he recognized mickey a little bit from his room.

they have a fun halloween carnival going on that was closed when michelle and i went a couple of weeks ago, so we thought we'd go check it out.  bill hill and the hillbillies were just starting a little parade and show when we walked up.  we looked around for a few minutes, but as soon as i set cody down to walk he was clapping and running up to the front to dance with mickey, chip, and dale.

it cracked me up how cody would stop and look at the musicians any time the music sounded funny.

chip (i looked up who is who - chip has the black nose) loved cody and kept trying to get cody to dance with him or at least give him a high five or a hug, but cody would just keep dancing away.

i know this is a horrible picture of cody, but the only way i could get him to pose with chip (he just wanted to go dance) was to be in the picture too.

while at the carnival we also saw goofy, who cody pointed out with a 'woof woof'

and pluto.

as we were leaving, we also saw woody.
'howdy howdy howdy'

we almost never see so many characters in so short a time and with virtually no lines to wait in.  cody loved seeing all of them, even though he doesn't really know who they are.  as much as he love them and gave them high fives and blew them kisses, he would not stand next to them for a picture - hence why i'm in every one with him.

on our way out of the park to go home, we saw mickey and minnie dancing in the street with their little band.  i've never seen them dance before and it was super cute to watch.

it was quite a jack-pot of a day as far as characters were concerned.  maybe next time we'll squeeze in a few more rides here and there.
