looking back, i can't imagine how i managed to stay in the hospital for four nights when cody was born! this time around after one night, i was pushing to get out of there and sleep in my own bed again. ryan took cody home to get some good sleep before working the next day while my mom stayed the one night in the hospital with me. she went home to stay with cody during the day, so i was pretty much bored out of my mind at the hospital all day. maybe that helped me wanting to go home a little....
well, my pushing to leave paid off and we were both discharged at about 6 pm on the day after isaac was born. my mom and ryan both happened to be there for the evening, so they could take us home. i couldn't believe how small isaac looked in the carseat compared to how cody was!
cody spent the afternoon at cora lynne's again, so kelby brought him over when we got home and was isaac's very first (non-family) visitor.
cody asked over and over to hold him
we tried the first sponge bath the next morning. once he figured out the water was nice and warm, isaac rather liked bath time.
and, as always, cody was the big helper
first bit of tummy time. must be better when sleeping.
and more sleeping
and more sleeping while snuggling with mom
and even more sleeping while being held by cody
i swear he's awake sometimes though.
i feel like it is so considerate of new babies to sleep so much to help out with the 'older brother' transition. its been nice to be able to spend plenty of time with cody during isaac's naps. hopefully cody will continue to be happy and helpful where isaac is concerned! so far so good...
