isaac!

isaac has hit the big two year mark!  i can't believe how fast that's gone.  he is such a happy, funny kid.  he does things all the time that keep us giggling and smiling.

he's definitely still in the accident prone stage.  see that big ol' fat lip?  at least he's still happy right?

he loves to accessorize.  he almost always has something around his wrists - ranging from these rings, to a little minion on a string, to the tire treads (the real man's bracelet) from one of cody's trucks that broke.  he also loves wearing gloves and carrying a backpack or his 'satchel' from our dress-up box.

he actually came in this day singing 'happy birthday' all on his own.

you can see how good he is at building with our marbleworks set.  all kinds of creative pieces put together.....or not.  very entertaining to watch him try and keep the pieces together and pick up his marble though.

a favorite past time of isaac's is playing ghost.  he'll walk around saying 'ooooOOOooo' and then 'peek-a-doo' (yes, with a d) when he comes out.

cody has never been much interested in the dolls we have, but isaac likes to get them out occasionally.  lately he's liked practicing putting on their diapers.  good practice, buddy!

we celebrated isaac's birthday just a couple of days late this year.  luckily he was pretty oblivious to the actual date of his birthday and didn't care.

with christmas only being a few weeks ago, he's quite mastered the present opening thing and excitement over 'a box!'

a few fun things he got....

super cute finger puppets from grandma and grandpa

ryan took cody to the dollar store with his very own money and he picked out a few little cars for isaac.  it was so fun to see his excitement.  he wanted to wrap it right away when they got home and he asked every day if it was isaac's birthday so he could open it.

grandma and grandpa bishop gave isaac a chef hat, apron, oven mitt, and little muffin tin.  isaac nearly always chooses 'mussins' when we ask what he wants for breakfast.  he was a little confused by the oven mitt since we only have hot pads, but he caught on quick.

we got some new food for the kitchen and it has entertained the boys endlessly so far.

he got two awesome new books: the circus ship and don't let pigeon drive the bus.  we love books!

the doctor kit he got has been well used already.  we get frequent check-ups around here.

we made sure to have 'mussins' for isaac's birthday breakfast and then made cupcakes.  good thing i know two very willing 'tasters'

isaac also got a wagon for his birthday, so we tried it out after church.

we opted for cupcakes since they're more like 'mussins' and isaac loved it.  happy birthday sweet boy!

we went in for isaac's check-up today.  cody was so good at prepping him for each step and what the nurse/doctor would be doing, so isaac wasn't scared a bit.  i can't believe how big his looks sitting up on the exam table! ('cheese!!')

his two year stats bring him in at:

height - 37 inches (98th percentile)

weight - 32.8 pounds (95th percentile)

he's catching right up to cody!

he's such a good talker for two.  i swear the day after his birthday, he decided to start speaking in full sentences.  he came to me with his socks and said, "mom, can you help me put on my socks please?" 10 word sentence?  sure buddy.  let me pick my jaw up off the floor first.  we sometimes miss what he says simply because we're not expecting so much to come out of his mouth!
