as always, a few random bits and pieces of our month.
i love watching isaac look at books with bonnie. he just points out and labels everything on the page. he's the perfect little speech therapist in training. i'm glad she's getting past the 'eat books' phase and shows a little more interest in looking at them.
ryan and i have both been noticing that cody has been having trouble hearing the last few weeks. we can be right behind him and saying his name and he won't hear anything. i called and made an appointment with an audiologist for a hearing evaluation just to get things checked out. turned out he did have a hearing loss (glad it wasn't just in our heads) but it was just from fluid in his middle ear after the ear infection he had in december (glad it wasn't anything serious). hopefully the fluid drains soon and he can get back to normal cuz we're about to lose our minds some days.
after the hearing check, i took cody to get a treat for being so brave and cooperative. he opted for a hot chocolate so we went to starbucks. did you know they'll do a special kids temperature? awesomeness.
isaac and cody have a hard time leaving each other along when it comes to bedtime, so isaac often end up falling asleep in a sleeping bag in our room then we move him to his bed after taking him to the bathroom. one night i came in to get him and he was curled up in a ball by the door. his animals, on the other hand, were tucked nicely in. funny boy.
cody got a lego set for his birthday last year and he has loved it. he saw the lego sets at target and decided he wanted to get some more. we went home and counted up the money in his piggy bank (spiderman bank, mom!) and in isaac's. then we headed to target again, on another day, and they picked out a lego set each plus something for bonnie's birthday from the two of them. they are now spending hours each day playing with legos. i most definitely love it.
and so do they!
i just can't get enough of babies in bonnets. i just love it!
we did 'o' for preschool this week. o is for octopus was one of our activities. isaac did this activity (and several others) better than some of the kids in preschool actually. he has gotten to be so careful and is getting better at sounds and letters and counting all the time. he did awesome on this one and i just love the face he drew :)
this little bobby pin fell out of kate's hair the other day at our house and i found it after they left. bonnie has just enough hair now to barely hold it in, nevermind that its halfway back her head...
cody had some homework that he needed to get done after preschool and isaac insisted on getting a book to do homework as well. such studious boys.
"mom you don't have to cry about us" - isaac to me as i left to run errands after dad came home to take kids on a walk.
