cody had a fun assignment for school to make a robot out of rectangular prisms (yes, that's what he calls them), cubes, spheres, and cylinders. we did a little scavenging in our cupboards and this is what he came up with. when we finished, he named it 'doney' and took it to school a week early.
lucky for me, cody's favorite book character for read across america day is the same as his halloween costume from last fall. this time, though, he's actually reading the first book by himself! he is a great, fluent reader. the first graders have been nice enough to take them along with him to the library at school most days and he loves picking out a new book to read with us.
who needs mom or dad when you have cody to read you books and give horsey rides!?
cody was chosen as student of the month for march! he came home from school going on and on about how he gets to go have pancakes with the principal (which is the fun event that mrs. ramsay puts on for the students of the month) and it took a while to get out of him the reason for it. we're so proud of how hard he works at school! (he got to choose a multi-colored pen and tested it on his certificate).
