one moment

five years ago today i went to the mesa temple and married my best friend.  

 

little did i know then the struggles, joys, hardships, and fun we'd have in just the first 5 years of marriage.  but i can definitely say i love him more now than i did then and i know i'll love him more as the years go on.  hopefully there are many many many more to come.

since ryan's so busy with rotations and his schedule is pretty unpredictable at times, we decided to celebrate our anniversary early during his didactic week (a week of school in between rotations) since we knew he'd have the weekend off.

we got a baby-sitter for cody....the longest chunk of time yet.  clearly he had plenty of fun play time with jennifer and marco, as evidenced by the picture they messaged us.

while he played, we drove over to las vegas.  the original plan was to go the the infamous buffet at the bellagio (we have friends who rave about it), but we didn't have time to get to the other end of the strip.  we ended up eating at the buffet at mandalay bay.  ryan was super excited for prime rib and shrimp.  it was pretty tasty, but i was definitely more excited for the show.

the lion king was great even the 3rd time around for me.  it was a fun trip and nice to get away for the day together.

tonight we just went out to dinner at johnny rocket's.  we ate there the day after our wedding, so we thought it would be fitting.  we even took cody with us.  he felt like such a big boy sitting up in a high chair, looking longingly at our food and flirting with anyone who would look at him.

ryan surprised me when he came home with a huge bouquet of daisies....my favorite :)
