thanksgiving

ryan is in the midst of his family medicine rotation and he ended up having thursday and friday off during the week of thanksgiving.  we decided we'd brave the traffic (come back home) and make a quick trip to phoenix for thanksgiving.

check out this spread!  so tasty, and not an ounce of work.  we got off easy :)

ryan's uncle keith hosted at his home in peoria and we had quite a crowd.

grandpa and grandma preston came up from mesa to enjoy the day with all of the kids.  ryan's mom has 5 siblings.  it amazed me how not alike they look, but i think it's just because i'm more used to my family who all look exactly alike.

ryan isn't too close to his extended family, so it was fun to meet them and get to know them with him.  like his aunt carma (married to ryan's uncle ivan) who lives just north of los angeles, who is from spain and loved talking with ryan, who loves cody and told us over and over to come visit and bring him to see her.

farrah and mike came up with their family, so we got to spend a little time with them.
(ethan, rachael, hyrum, and logan)

rachael is cody's closest-in-age-cousin.  wouldn't you know the closest cousin would be the only girl?  lucky for cody, aunt aubrey is having twin boys in the spring for him to play with.  not so lucky for rachael i guess...

ryan's aunt was even nice enough to snap a quick family picture for us.

happy (late) thanksgiving!
