hohummm

well, our life has kind of just slipped into a routine monotony after the busy-ness and excitement of the holidays.

as usual, i don't have pictures to document the lives of the parents.  ryan wonders what i do all day while he's gone, aside from take care of cody.  well....probably not as much as i could, but i deserve a little laziness from time to time, right?  i try to keep things in order around the house and i've been doing lots of sewing and a little crafting that i'm going to someday photograph and post.

ok, i do have one picture of something i made.  we had extra fabric from our christmas jammies, so i made cody a regular pair to lounge around in on sunday evenings to match mom and dad.  he wore them to bed one night when his sleepers were all dirty.  when ryan went to get him in the morning, he was pantless.  well, we gave it a shot.  i guess we'll stick with the sleepers.

ryan's in his last day of pediatrics today.  he did 2 weeks in the pediatric ward, 2 weeks in the newborn nursery, and 2 weeks in the pediatric clinic.  he does like pediatrics and clinic work.  he's still not sure what he ultimately wants to do, but he's narrowing it down slowly but surely.

cody is continuing to learn new things every day.  and, as usual, his life is much more more well-documented than ours.

he spends about 30 minutes before each nap doing something like this.  he talks, squeals, crawls, stands, beats, anything he can think of.  but he's happy and falls asleep eventually.

he figured out how to open this door and one of the doors in the upstairs bathroom.  he hasn't figured out that the door stays open and he can get things out, so he just sits opening and closing....opening and closing.  yep, we'll enjoy it while it lasts.

always the helper.  pulling things out for me to fold.

he can pull himself up high enough to reach the keys, so he'll play by himself or with anyone who will hold him on their lap.

the past few days, cody has figured out how to scrunch up his face when he smiles.  so now he'll scrunch his eyes and smile real big.  cracks me up.

pulling up on everything in sight and crawling all over the place has simply become not enough for this little boy.  he's taken to climbing the stairs.  he likes to take off when you're least expecting and he's got some real speed (especially if he seems something he wants).  we're trying to teach him how to go down too so he doesn't face plant all the way to the tile at the bottom.

he is getting pretty good at waving which we're trying to catch on video.  i've always been a little cynical of home videos, but looking back on some of my sister's old ones makes me want to have some snippets of life to look back on.  something to look forward too huh?

Home videos may seem cooky- but they are seriously an awesome way to remember some of the fun times you have with your kids and some of the crazy things we all do. And now they're super simple to take and keep and store... why not?! Sometimes they're even better than pictures!

I just do the short little videos on our camera. It is fun to look back and see your kids when they were smaller, they grow up so fast.
