all growing up, i had a picnic table in my bedroom and a special tea set my grandma and grandpa garrett got for me on their mission in canada. i hosted tea parties for my siblings and friends often. my mom has continued the tea party tradition with the grandkids. having so many girl cousins, its only right that cody get used to having tea parties - which he loves anyway. we had several tea parties while we were in arizona.
the first was with a new tea set we got for my mom for christmas from ben behunin (who wrote 'becoming isaac' and has a pottery shop in utah). she has named the multi-colored tea pot 'elmer' (like the book about the patchwork elephant) and he even makes elephant sounds when you pour.
cody picked out fancy hats for each of us.
cody has gotten so good about putting food carefully on his little plate.
my grandma came to spend some time with my mom while were there. grandma, great-grandma, and cody had a tea party with a tea set my mom has from nauvoo one afternoon. it was during this party that great-grandma taught cody his new favorite word: 'licious' (delicious)
on our last day in arizona, we had one last tea party with my tea set. we stopped at a little bakery on our way home from running errands and got some yummy bread and lemon bars to have with our lunch tea party.
now that we'll be living in texas near many girl cousins, we'll hopefully be having tea parties more often.
