well, its getting down to the wire. my friend, cami, was due about a month before me and she has had her baby. i told myself that i would start getting things ready after their baby came, so i guess its time.
i started by washing the newborn clothes we have for a boy and the newborn clothes david and julie are letting us borrow for a girl. i put it up for a vote on facebook. almost everyone voted girl. beth said she hopes its a girl, but thinks it'll probably be a boy since we do things in threes in our families (beth and david both have three girls).
while i folded, cody and isaac found all kinds of fun things to do with boxes. it never ceases to amaze me how much fun can be had with something so simple. why do people even spend money on toys?!
we did a (hopefully) last big run to sam's and some other stores and grabbed some frozen yogurt (which i've been craving for weeks). isaac doesn't want to miss out on any and takes huge bites - of pretty much anything he eats! its a terribly blurry picture, but it was the only one i could get of his larger-than-life bite.
one night, i remembered that we should get the crib set up, which started a conversation about where we would fit everything in the boys' room. the thought plagued me for days before we had time to switch our office with the boys room.
here's the prep from the office moved into the living room the night before the big move.
the emptying room...
and the progress in the new room.
it was a bit of a crazy day, but we got everyone moved and settled by bedtime. it'll be a bit of an adjustment - especially now that cody can stand up on his bed without fear of hitting the fan...
ryan built the boys an awesome fort after we got the stuff moved out of the living room. that kept them busy while we got lots of other stuff done.
i'm sure there's lots left to do, but i'm feeling pretty ready to welcome this new little baby!
