we sure had a hard time figuring out when my mom should come out since we had no idea when bonnie would arrive. we finally decided to have her just wait until the first week of april when ryan went back to a crazy long work schedule. he had a pretty light and flexible schedule for the first week with bonnie, so we didn't need extra help right away. i'm pretty sure it was torture for my mom to have to wait nearly a whole week to meet bonnie in person!
she got in in the middle of the night. ryan went and picked her up and bonnie happened to be up when they got back. meeting in the morning with the big brothers is much more fun.
isaac pulled out the 'cargo' from our train set and was using it as owie spray. it is just the size of the spray bottle of 'grandma's kiss it better' spray. pretty clever.
my mom hurt/broke her toe the morning she came, so isaac's owie spray came in handy.
cody loves holding bonnie any chance he gets, so it is nice to have an extra set of hands around for when he is abruptly done!
i'm not sure how she can stand it, but my mom took the boys out for long chunks of time in the late afternoon several times while they played in the driveway. they created quite an elaborate track for their scooters and bikes complete with arrows, ties (for a railroad), and a stop sign.
i went outside to check out the track one day and came back in to find this....she spits up a lot...
grandma always brings such fun activities and projects. she brought props to go along with the story 'benny's pennies' and the boys played it all morning long in various dress-ups and in all kinds of places all over the house.
bonnie went for her first ride in the wagon. they ended up just going to the end of the driveway. it was kinda windy and the curb is a bit too steep to feel good about bumping her down it in the wagon.
so instead, she snuggled with me while the boys went with grandma.
if we put bonnie down without being swaddled, her hands always end up tucked up under her chin like this. cute as can be.
grandma magically got isaac to put poops in the potty twice in one day, so he got to go out for ice cream. we let him choose if he wanted to go out with mom or dad. cody always chooses dad, but isaac picked me, so we got to go on a little date. he was so excited!
i just can't get enough of this cute little outfit from david and julie's stash. she wore it to her first park outing on ultimate frisbee night.
isn't the only proper way to read a story with goggles on? safety first!
we definitely couldn't have a visit with grandma without making scones
and having a tea party!
(even if i can't quite set it up right with the timer)
while the scones were cooking, i caught cody reading stories to bonnie.
my mom had the genius idea of making freezer meals, so we were hard at work for several days and got about 16 meals put into the freezer!
while i finished up some meals, grandma and the boys made kites
and bonnie took a nap.
the boys and grandma spend lots of time putting stickers on and coloring this huge paper.
grandma always treats the boys to a ride at the grocery store when she comes.
we had to go to the store to get some m&m's for a fun book they got at the library when grandma took them to story time.
guess what bonnie did while they were gone....
