july swim session

our swim lesson friends (the haymond's) were gone the whole month of july, so we were on our own for july session and we were at a new pool since the class at the rec center filled up so fast.  i joked with kimmie before lessons started that i didn't know much about the new pool but wondered if it was on the wrong side of the track.  turns out, it was practically on top of the tracks!  the train passed one day during lessons and was quite a sight!

the new pool had some perks, like lounge chairs to hang out on before class starts
(the boy in white is usually at the gym at the same time as us before swim - his mom is in my class)

there is a slide
(not that they could use it)

and on thursdays, the teachers turned on the fountains.  so much fun!

the area that the lessons took place was more shallow all around, so i felt like the kids could do a lot more independently.  cody learned lots there.

a few momentous things happened during swim lessons this month.  i learned to like almonds.  i have known for a long time how good they are for you, but i thought maybe now that i'm 30 i'd like them.  turns out that roasted with a hint of salt they aren't so bad :)

luckily isaac likes nuts, so we could share a snack while cody swam.

also momentous - isaac got in the van and discovered 'i can do it!!'  best. new. ever.  hopefully he can do it forever now!

bonnie was so pleasant as always.

many days, she slept through the lesson

this dress is one that caitlin wore when she was a baby.  it comes clear from scotland!

isaac had lots of fun with another little boy.  one day they came up with this train and climbed in and out of it all over.

bonnie got this dress from her great-great-aunt bonnie, so we sent a picture to her (via grandma)

and took a picture to send to our newest cousin, atlas :)
