brotherly love

we have some out-of-this-world brothers here.  not that they always get along, but when they do they sure have a great time together and they take such good care of their baby sister!

they insisted that they needed their goggles before they went out to play in the water.
(isaac's are just scientist safety goggles, so i'm not sure how that worked out for him)

isaac always makes sure bonnie has something to do.  he gave her all of his 'babies' to watch.

we started family home evening one night and couldn't get isaac to come.  turned out that he was in the family room trying to pull bonnie in her bumbo into the room with us.  we got her situated and then he sat next to her with his arm around her :)

i found a box of really old sugar cubes as i cleaned out the cupboards, so we built a sugar cube temple for fhe.

i can't hardly take a picture of bonnie without the boys wanting to join in.  she looks so little between them!

i let the boys each pick an activity from the dollar section at target, so we did some painting.  if you look closely, you can see isaac wearing his cape (a blanket grandma berta made him).

bonnie is getting more interested in stories, so she joins in more and more often.

some meals (mostly any meal that she's not sleeping through), bonnie gets so sad if she's left out, so on occasion we put her in the bumbo by the table.  she just loves sitting up to see.  on the first, she sat just like this and gave us her first laugh - at isaac who was sitting and not doing anything :)

we looked up some fun patterns online for our legos.  we created a little neighborhood and a firetruck to put out several fires.

cody is getting so creative with his train tracks.  they go over, under, and all over.  i helped build some extra tunnels with blocks and we found some road signs to use with the trains.

bonnie just needs to be close enough to see the boys and she's happy as can be watching them.

i laid bonnie down by cody when he needed to wake up one day.  i've never had him wake up so happy!

we tried it with isaac too and they all loved hanging out on the bed for a bit together.

sometimes they boys' creativity amazes me.  one day they put the chairs up like this and said they were garages (the one on the left is 'open' and the right is 'closed').  hours can be spent playing like this.  i love it.

i came out one morning to see this.  cody is reading calvin and hobbes with bonnie :)

cody made up a song one day and wanted me to make a video of it.

cody really loves 'cowboy' songs.  when one comes on the radio, he uses the tightening strap from his carseat for a bass and plays along.

i'm glad that i catch some of these fun moments on camera so that i remember all the fun things that end up happening with these two.  there are plenty of times of grumbling and fighting, but they sure love each other!

Man, how they treat their little sister is the SWEETEST. You've got some great kids there, mama.
