we were so lucky to have a great excuse to head up to fort worth for a couple of days and see marianne and her family. aunt nicole and atlas skipped out their connection in dallas (they went to washington d.c. with sean for a week) to come spend a week in texas before driving back to arizona with us. since it was crazy expensive to try and fly to houston, we just went to pick her up. so glad it worked out!
we left home after lunch so good naps could happen in the car. i got charlotte's web to listen to while we drove and had to turn it off to convince cody to take a short nap. we just hung out around the house on thursday. i'm pretty sure the kids got out every single toy in the house.
i found isaac in marianne's bathroom while she got ready on friday morning. he was very concerned about all these bottles that had no tops. he was searching the drawer for lids for each one. he is a bit o.c.d. about that kind of stuff. he likes to put the lids back on the milk as soon as we're done pouring it or will put the lid back on containers while i turn around to get a measuring cup. he just can't stand it :)
we spend a few hours that morning at a warehouse called the celebration center. its just a huge room with stuff for kids to do.
the little boy in the bus was so patient with bonnie, even though she was pretty much laying across the whole toy he was playing with. the benefits of being a cute baby i guess!
she did a bit of walking, but it took some convincing.
isaac 'moved' the lawn (like his dad 'moves' the lawn at home)
they have a great train to play on and we tried to catch a picture of the kids before we left. this is about the best we got....
we ate a picnic at the celebration center and came home for naps. after everyone woke up we had a little easter egg hunt.
tried for another good picture...and this is the best we got.
before we had to leave for the airport, marianne showed us a fun chalk rocket trick. we couldn't get any to fly very high, but it sure looked cool on the road. the kids kept running up and down the driveway when we waited for take-off.
we had such a fun time with marianne and her girls (we did see landon for dinner and a bit). we have loved living within a few hours of them and will be so sad to not see them as often once we move to arizona!!
