its always a little hard to come back to real life after visiting family. we're glad to be home though. it's hard to believe we have less than two month left in texas! i'm not quite ready to start packing though.
bonnie discovered my sunglasses and worked very hard to get them on several different ways. she loves making her way into my bedroom and pulling everything off of our table by the door - mostly the clock on the floor behind her!
i've had a koala crate box in the closet for months and finally decided to pull it out on a long afternoon. these boys loved doing all the ocean activities.
we each made two fish with special diffusing paper.
bonnie found the fishing pole to be a great chew toy while she 'helped'
david and julie invited us down for the weekend last weekend. cody was so excited because he knew we were going to be roasting hot dogs (the adults had burgers) and marshmallows - which he thinks is about the coolest thing ever. they added on to their patio area, so we had lots of space to enjoy the beautiful, post-major-flooding weather.
we got to stay the night to hang out and play games. the next morning, we found we had to keep a very close eye on bonnie. she made her way to the stairs about as fast as she could!
they don't have many boy dress-ups, so isaac enjoys dressing up in the dresses and elsa capes (he loves to play 'i'm elsa and you're anna')
it was cool in the morning, but as soon as it warmed up, we took off for the closest splash pad. bonnie was fearless and got right in to playing in the water.
she crawled everywhere and followed all the kids around
pretty sure she got hit with a bucket of water or two while they played.
i finally remembered to put on her hat and glasses, but they didn't keep her from the water either.
all the kids got cold eventually and ended up on their towels in the sun. cody got a bit confused and thought he should lay his towel right in the water, but we saved it before it was totally soaked.
we had some amazing brisket for dinner (which we'd originally planned to eat for lunch) that david is working on perfecting using his new smoker.
its been so fun to see little sam grow up over the past few months. its still really hard for me to believe that we moved here before lily was even born and have added three kids between two families in the mean time!
all of the cousins will miss each other sorely! they play so well together and have so much fun every time we get together.
we went to wake cody up from his nap and isaac and bonnie got some snuggles. its tricky to get pictures of all three!
a few days later at naptime, isaac wouldn't stay in his bed so i put him in time out. he clearly was much more tired than he let on.
we hosted preschool for the letter 'v.' one of our activities was tasting vegetables. i sent the moms a picture to show that their kids said they liked the things we tried. i'm so glad cody and isaac are good vegetable eaters - as are all of our preschoolers apparently! only one more preschool day at our house - z is coming in a few weeks!
we went to clean the church this morning. i left a little early to get to the gym and kimmie's baby shower. the kids all stayed with ryan who also had to help with cleaning out some of the closets. i guess the boys came home with a few souvenirs. i saw two flags rolled up on the piano and almost threw them away - until i saw they were texas flags. texas has such a special place in my heart, we may keep these flags forever :)
