we had another great christmas at home with just our small family this year. we slept until cody woke up and then headed down together. first thing cody had to do was find 'elf.' aunt nicole and uncle sean gave us an 'elf on the shelf' to open early this year. cody loved coming downstairs every morning to find where 'elf' had come back to after visiting santa for the night. we couldn't quite get him to use 'elf's' name - frederick (which is the name my parents use for the new baby for now).
after a quick family picture in our matching jammies (i'm holding a pair for 'frederick'), we checked out our stockings and gifts from santa. i had to convince ryan to let us do at least that much before breakfast. then we did presents after breakfast.
santa brought cody a fun tunnel to climb through. when we opened it up, he crawled through and shouted 'yay' and then ran back to run through again and again.
he found raisins, fruit snacks, and juice in his stocking. he wasted no time checking out his new rocking chair so he could have some 'sins' and 'nacks'
ryan got a root beer sampler with about 10 different kinds of root beer in bottles. we've had fun trying out lots of new kinds.
after breakfast we had fun opening the rest of our gifts.
it was fun to see how much cody liked the things he got. he sat right down and played with all his new things for the rest of the day.
with a few breaks for 'juice'
and a walk with dad in their 'same same' shoes.
