half way to a year

it's a bit hard to believe that isaac is already six months old.  cody has finally caught on to 'isaac' so we almost never hear 'zak-ik' anymore.  its a little bittersweet.  i loved his nickname for isaac, but i love the way he says 'isaac' so carefully and clearly.

isaac is getting more active and mobile every day.  we made it to the doctor on his half birthday.

 he came in at:

length - 27.5 in (85th percentile)
weight - 17 lbs 1 oz (50th percentile)
head - 17.5 in (75th percentile)

he's tall and thin like cody, but just not as big.  considering he started off more than a pound smaller than cody, it's not surprising that he'd stay smaller than cody's 95th+ percentiles even now.

the doctor's appointment lasted for-ev-er!!  two hours!!  ending with five shots to the legs (the stuff they use to combine shots is in a national shortage).  so we missed the gym, missed story time, and went home after a very long two hours with two very exhausted, grumpy boys.

cody is getting better and better at sharing with isaac.  like this hat for instance....

after isaac's nap, he loves to have cody come in his crib or pack-n-play to visit.  sometimes cody will even read him a book.

he is a champion roller and can make it all over the room before you know it.  he often makes his way under beds
(the flash came on and shocked him a bit)

or under computer chairs.

he loves stuffed animals like his monkey

and 'pamma' (as cody calls the panda) - when cody will share it with him.

isaac's first tooth peeked out around 5 1/2 months and now he's got two well on their way in.  he definitely hasn't handled teething as easily as cody, but a  little orajel goes a loooong way for this kid's happiness.

we don't use bottles too often - maybe every other week or so - so its pretty funny to watch him try to handle a bottle on his own.

he hasn't started eating food, but he is a champion at eating his toes, people's fingers, or pretty much anything else in sight
we tried the sitting up thing

from time to time

he was only just sitting up for a few seconds with a lot of help before his doctor's appointment, but that six month mark hit and he decided he was ready to just about master the sitting up milestone.  he can sit up and play unassisted for a good three to five minutes now.  next step...crawling?

always the handsome boy, or as cody says "isaac so handsome."

Poor baby! Five shots at one time has got to be the pits.
