what we're doing these days

we've been trying to have a bit of fun here and there amidst unpacking and organizing.  

we go to storytime at the library on thursdays.  cody is a big helper to miss mona and gets involved in all the activities.  he likes to get 'humpty dump' (as he calls him) out of miss mona's magic box and helps choose finger puppets for old macdonald.

i guess cody decided to potty train the babies.  it was all fine and good until he dipped the little boy cabbage patch's feet in the toilet. 

ryan got some sun glasses from the residency program.  clearly they were meant just for cody.  'cool dude.'

occasionally we hang out outside (very occasionally since i'm not a huge fan of the heat and isaac gets pretty sweaty and grumpy before too long).  isaac sits up in a chair in the bumbo to avoid fire ants and cody walks around dumping water all over.  

cody is getting to be a better and better helper all the time.  we needed to refill a couple of our kitchen containers, so cody helped me with the transfers.  he kept moving the buckets on and off of his stool as he would get tired of scooping.

one morning cody was taking turns riding his bike with his dinosaurs.  he would put one on and say 'ok dinosaur your turn' and push him around until the next dinosaur's turn came up.

i found a kitchen at a yardsale over the weekend.  again, we only go out occasionally to play with it outside (we'll probably move it inside eventually) since its so hot.  can you see how much this kid sweats?  that wet head is not from the pool.

cody loves to sing color songs with grandma berta.  he found his stop sign the other day and sang 'fire trucks are red. stop signs are red too. h-o-b h-o-b' (its supposed to be r-e-d, but he gets the letters confused).

we found these boots in a box when we moved to california.  although they are no where near fitting ryan's feet anymore, he has a strong attachment to them (they're single-piece leather!).  we're just glad they're finally getting some use!

we decided that we'd put cody's dishes within his reach now that we're setting up a new kitchen.  i found three cups and gave him his silverware to sort into each cup.  once i showed him what to do, he put them all away in no time.  its so handy to have him set the table and put away his own dishes now.

i promise cody's not the only one who lives here, but i'm usually taking the pictures, ryan's usually at work, and isaac's usually sleeping....so cody's the entertainment.
