san antonio - sea world

tuesday morning we got up and crossed san antonio to go to sea world.  we had to make a quick stop on the way to get cody some tennis shoes after he complained (for the first time ever) that his boots hurt his feet while doing our walking on monday.

we got there about the same time as a little bit of sprinkling, but it cleared up fast and was a perfect day.

we caught the first sea lion show of the day.  they did one educational show and one entertainment show for each animal.  the educational shows were really fun.  they showed how they trained the animals and all their tricks.

we walked around back to see all the sea lions playing.

there was a little sesame street area with rides and playgrounds.  cody wanted to ride the rides, so we took turns going with him.  this one clearly wasn't created for 30-year-old back-sides.

isaac was even big enough to ride in big bird eggs with cody and me.

we caught the shamu show next.  it was also the educational one.  we were lucky enough to be juuust outside the splash zone when they showed off their tricks.

cody and i checked out the carousel while ryan and isaac took a quick bathroom/diaper break.

and as we walked to the playground to have some lunch, we found franklin!  cody even recognized him from our franklin books.

after lunch we went back to the sea lion stadium to watch 'cannery row caper.'  it was super cute.  they were trying to solve the mystery of who stole the fish from the cannery.  can you guess??

cody agreed that isaac would love the carousel, so we rode it one more time on our way out.

ryan asked some of the residents for restaurant recommendations near the river walk and someone recommended a mexican restaurant that happened to be right across the street from our hotel.  we ate a little early and did some swimming before bed.  good thing lots of walking tires kids out fast!
