cody had his big 4th birthday at grandma and grandpa's house this year. he planned way ahead that he wanted to have brown sugar muffins and eggs, so grandma was nice enough to oblige. we waited until ryan could be home to facetime with us while cody opened his presents.
he got an umbrella, several books, lots of cars, t-ball, and a garbage truck.
he's been asking for a garbage truck for months and months, so he was thrilled that he got one from grandma and grandpa. he and isaac put 'trash' all over the house and drove around picking it up.
grandma got some new bowls in that had these cardboard dividers that she thought we could make into fun party hats.
they all turned out pretty stylin'
after bailey's birthday party, cody started telling me he wanted to have pin the tail on the donkey at his birthday. by the time his birthday rolled around, he had forgotten about that. he was pretty excited to play anyway.
we also played pop the balloon and drop the clothespins into the bottle. isaac figured out the best way to do it...
he wanted a chocolate and peanut butter cake - since he of course knows what the best cake in the world is. we did an up-up-up cake and the top 'up' separate just for him.
delicious! we sent lots of cake home with nicole a few days later since its a bit rich for just the few of us!
happy birthday sweet boy!
we had his four-year-old well child check-up when we got home from arizona. stats:
height - 47.5 inches (99th percentile)
weight - 47.5 pounds (98th percentile)
in looking at the growth chart, he's over 90th percentile even for a five-year-old! he's big and tall as always.
we are so grateful for our cody! he's learning more and more all the time. a month or so ago, he told me he wants to learn how to read. he has started sounding out words here and there and loves telling us what sounds and letters words start with. he loves playing games, putting together legos, being read to, and talking to bonnie. he's such a good big brother and a great helper for me.
