an impromptu reunion

beth and david's families planned trips to and through arizona this summer to overlap a bit.  mom wanted to rent a second house by them for a few days, but i suggested just coming up to our house since we have room for everyone here.

beth and chris pulled in late wednesday evening and everyone else came up from thatcher on thursday in time for lunch.

all the cousins had such a great time playing.  dress-ups were a constant source of entertainment from in, out, and all around the house - especially once walkie-talkies were added in.

grandma and grandpa are always first choice for bedtime stories!

these nightgowns were made for the family reunion in houston in 2014 when lily was the littlest of the bunch.  bonnie is wearing molly's old one and the others are wearing their older sisters' nightgowns.

friday we continued to just play and have fun. grandma hosted a tea party for all the kids (she brought her dress-ups too so we'd have more girl options)

we drove over to pinetop for a short hike along the mogollon rim to get out and about for a bit.

we had a neighbor come take a few pictures of the bunch since we're not all together too often.

we always love a good excuse to use the fire pit.

ryan is working on building a picnic table for us.  he got one bench done in time for everyone to come.  we spent a good chunk of our time putting up a little decorative fence around our inner yard so the little kids could roam a little easier.

on saturday, we drove down to phoenix for a 1/2 garrett family reunion.  even great grandma flew down to join in.

our family

jeff's family

steve's family

we get to be quite a bunch when we're together - and that's without brad, shirley, and dean's families!

it was so fun to see cousins and their children that i haven't seen in years or even met before!
