we've sure had a tough time with sickness going around and around our house. it seems like we'll have three or four good days and then someone else is throwing up again. we got up to go to show low days all together yesterday and cody threw up all over the van. ryan stayed home with cody and i took the other two kids to the city park to see what the buzz was about.
isaac participated in the itty-bitty olympics. he clearly hadn't worked all year to win the events like others seemed to, but he sure had fun!
it was pretty hot waiting in the long lines, so we grabbed a couple of otter pops.
after the olympics, i let the kids each pick a ride. isaac did the giant swing
and bonnie picked the big cars slide.
we talked to a junior rodeo queen who gave us free tickets to ride the ponies. there was a girl just older than bonnie in line by us who cried and cried. bonnie had no problem going in a climbing up. i just watched from the side and they both did fine and had a great time.
we bought a big fresh lemonade with a refill to take home for dad and cody to try, but didn't stay too long since it was hot and sunny.
isaac and bonnie also picked this little walking turtle puppet that is pretty much constantly tangled now.
cody was totally fine after throwing up the one time, so we kept our babysitter and went out with friends to try the white mountains escape room. they have a harry potter theme right now that adrienne really wanted to try out. we totally killed it without even using a hint.
we topped the leader board by a significant amount.
after we finished, we all went out for dinner at denny's. we sure have fun hanging out with these friends. we often get together on sunday evenings to play games - which usually ends up in just sitting around talking. we appreciate that they still welcome our friendship even though we're in a totally different stage of life (their kids are all teenagers or older) and always make them come to hang out at our house (so our kids can be in bed).
