date night

ryan and i had an official date night last night for the first time in a very long time.  we have several women in our ward who keep asking when they can watch cody for us, so we thought we'd finally take advantage.  i kept telling ryan that we needed to make sure we took the camera so that we could document that we still exist and our only family member isn't really the cute little boy who most often makes his way into our pictures.  alas, when we finally made it out the door and dropped cody off, we realized the only camera we had was on my phone - definitely the worst camera in the house.  but, i guess it gives a general idea.

we went to this little place called 'the deli' for dinner.  ryan's parents took us there when we first moved out here and ryan's been dying to go back and get another reuben.  funny that they don't actually even serve reubens, but it was good the second time too.  it was even nice enough weather that we could sit outside!

after dinner we went to laser island.  we got a trifecta package that let us play laser tag, do the coco climb, and play a round of tiki golf.  the coco climb was basically just climbing up a coconut tree with foot/hand holds.  we had a couple of races which ryan won every time since he's a good head taller than me and automatically has a head start.

the mini golf was a bit of a lame 9-hole course.  but we were the only ones on it making it a little more fun.

laser tag was my favorite part.  once i figured out where to put my hands so my gun would stop chirping at me, i got my stealth on and kicked some laser tag booty.  we decided it would be really fun to do a big group date and actually play with a bunch of people we know.  next time maybe.

it was still pretty early when we finished all that, so we took our time and went out for ice cream before we picked up cody.  even with all that, our babysitters were surprised to see us in just over 2 hours.  we did save a movie to watch once we got home to finish off our date night.

now we've just got to figure out how to squeeze a few more of these in with ryan's crazy, ever-changing schedule!

That sounds like fun! Ryan should have had a handicap of one hand and one foot and you could start half way up the tree... then it might have been even.
