tough love

cody loves his snowman book.  but sometimes he is a little hard on it.  its gone through a lot, and ended up looking like this

not only is it ripped right down the middle, this particular page was one day spit-up in and then closed only to be discovered a day or two later.  if you look real close, you may see the 'water' damage and bits of white stuck in the buttons.  

well, with a little help from elmer and scotch, the snowman book has been rejuvenated and returned to the bookshelf.  cody was pretty excited to see it after not having it for a couple of weeks.

and all this snowman talk reminded me of my winter season blocks.   

after coming up with the idea for the fall blocks last fall, i decided to do some for each season.  i'll wait until i put them each up to post pictures.

what i wouldn't give for just a little snowfall out here.  i miss being snuggled up inside while the ground turns increasingly white.  i miss the silence of snow falling and how it seems to dampen all the other sounds.  i miss bundling up in my scarves and coats.  now i just need to convince ryan that we need to live somewhere that has just a little snow once we leave california...
