books and sharing

its no secret that cody loves books.  he can sit and 'read' books for....well, not quite hours, but you know what i mean.  some days when we look in the living room we'll see about 2 toys out of the basket and about 15 books on the floor.  pretty clear what he loves.

i decided it was about time he got to check out a couple of books at the library.  our library has a whole shelf of board books, so i let cody choose one (he picked 'dora's eggs'....which he had a hard time sitting through) and i chose 'that's not my pirate' since we know how much he loves 'that's not my snowman.'

i think we'll make it a tradition, letting cody pick a book or two.  and someday, he'll be big enough to get his very own library card.  since that's a few years away, he does a great job of carrying mine around the library while we browse.

and here's a short video of our efforts to teach cody to share.  right before the video starts, i said 'can dad have one?'

Maybe he couldn't let it go because the other hand wasn't in there to help?
