spring is springing

well, according to the calendar, it is officially spring.  i kinda just go with the 'official' start of each season since its a little bit the same all year round here.  ok, so it is in the 60s in the 'winter' and the 90s in the 'summer.'  i'm hoping someday i can live somewhere that actually has seasons.

but back to spring

we pulled out the spring blocks for the shelf.

and last saturday morning, we got our garden planted.

we have some white flower that keeps coming back, some tulips i got at my work baby shower last year, and a bird of paradise remnant from the big, ugly plant we pulled up when we moved in.

if anyone knows what the white one is, please fill us in.

i got our seeds planted in egg cartons.

we're hoping for some zucchini, crooknecked squash, cucumbers, parsley, thyme, oregano, and basil.  the oregano, however is going to take some major miracle since the seed packet was completely empty when we opened it.

ryan prepped the ground for when our seeds sprout and need to be transplanted....

and planted our tomato plants - one right side up

 and one upside down

and as always, cody was a good sport and watched it all from his swing on the porch.
