tuesday we had a great day at disneyland. our stroller was having issues with a recurring flat tire so we did some extra walking.
we made sure to hit some of the classics like 'pirates of the caribbean'
and the 'jungle cruise' since we could all ride together.
i even got to ride with cody on 'autopia' and hear his 'no mom' every time i tried to correct the steering just a little.
maddie's greatest and only real desire was to meet merida, from brave (she was merida for halloween). we managed to catch her just before she left to 'feed angus.' merida basically just held maddie close and talked to her for a while. no one knows what they said and when we asked maddie what merida said, she just said 'talk.' it was so precious to see them together.
isaac was his most unhappy self while we waited to see merida. as soon as she was done talking to maddie, she came over and started to play with isaac. he stopped crying so fast! you can't see his face in any of the pictures, but he was completely smitten by her. he just smiled and smiled.
david found a star wars baseball cap earlier in the day, but we wanted to look for some other hats, so we stopped in 'the mad hatter's' and tried on a few.
cody tried on these mickey ears (the adult size - not the kid size which would have been too small) and wouldn't hardly even take them off long enough for us to pay for them. this kid loves mickey and i'm sure he will love the mickey ears for years to come.
the girls got minnie ears and even julie found a cute mickey hat.
once we got all the hats, we tried to get a picture of the kids together.....
we caught the classic disney picture on the way out of the park.
and ended up stopping at the tiki room to miss traffic again. cody fell asleep on ryan during the show. ryan set him down on the bench to get his backpack on and cody was so out that he almost took a nose-dive from sitting right off the bench. we couldn't stop laughing, but he was groggy. even being so sleepy, he wouldn't let me take off his ears.
david and julie left for arizona on wednesday morning. they'll spend a couple of days with grandma and grandpa before they head home.
