varga's come for a visit

during ryan's vacation, grandma and grandpa varga came out for a visit!

a few days before they arrived, i came out from taking a shower and cody was sitting on the couch 'fishing'

which is what ryan and his dad spent a couple of days doing on lake conroe .  they had a great time and caught tons of catfish.  somehow, ryan at least managed to take one picture. 

while the boys played in the water, we took grandma to the library

and to try out a new park 

not wanted to leave cody out of the fishing fun, we took a walk down to the little pond down the street for some afternoon fishing. 

isaac brought along his 'gooey fish,' but stayed safe in his stroller. 

it was a beautiful afternoon to just sit and fish

and snack (probably cody's favorite part).

grandpa caught the only fish and let cody help reel it in, but once cody saw it wriggling, he was running for cover.  he did not like that fish!

after naps on saturday, we went to a pumpkin patch nearby.  it had lots of fun things for little kids to do:

pet/feed the goats, llamas, ponies, deer, etc.

shoot some hoops

go for a train ride 

cruise around in a car 

dig in the sand 

and ride a real-life tractor! 

not to mention checking out all the different pumpkins. 

we made some attempts at a family picture, but had a bit of trouble getting everyone to focus. 

last, but certainly not least, we got to celebrate grandpa's birthday!  he opted for root beer floats instead of a cake, but we had him blow out a candle in a little scoop of ice cream that he shared with cody. 

it was such a fun visit!  we love hosting and can't wait for our next visitors ;)
