a day of paint

the boys and i headed down to marianne's house this week to help with some painting.  they're expected a new baby girl in december, so marianne has been busy as can be getting her projects done.  we thought a day away from home sounded fun and i was glad i could help out a bit.

we painted the ceiling first thing and while it was drying, marianne headed to the temple.  i took the kids outside for a while.  cody and capri had so much fun writing with chalk and throwing balls and exploring together.

the grass was a bit wet, but isaac didn't waste anytime trekking across the yard every way he could manage.

cody and capri took turns having me draw them and spelled their names for me to write 'c-o-d-y' and 'c-a-p-i.'  cody even tried writing it himself....although its a bit more right to left if you can make it out at all.

isaac took his first try at sitting up on a bike.

after lunch we did a little attempt at nap time with a movie.  capri ended up asking to go to bed upstairs and cody ended up just watching the movie by himself and i think stayed awake the whole time.

when marianne got back, we did some taping and got ready to paint the walls after a bit of a play break.  isaac got his first taste of dress-ups courtesy of capri.

we put isaac in the swing upstairs while we tried to get the walls done.  he hadn't taken very good naps, so it only took a minute or two of swinging before he was out.

we didn't quite finish the walls, but had some antsy want-to-be-helpers that were ready for some dinner and attention!  it was so fun to go help out and catch up.  i can't wait to see how the room turns out!

I'm just catching up on your blog and saw this. You are so good at taking pictures and capturing the little moments! I am so thankful for all of your help that day. We got more done than I've done by myself in weeks AND I got to go to the temple, very successful day! Isaac's hair looks a little reddish in some of these pictures, did I miss it in real life? I'll post pictures of the room as soon as I finish organizing and touch up my "oops!"
