a texas christmas eve

not so different from our last home in california, we enjoyed a bright, sunny, and mildly cool christmas eve here in texas.  we took advantage of the extra family time and drove to the park up the road.  we happened to run into some of our neighbors and friends from church, the ford's.  its always way more fun to play with friends, so we had a good time throwing a football, swinging, running, cracking a chin open.

isaac is so excited that he's big enough to get down and climb on and around the toys at the park.

while we were at the park, the ford's invited us to play chrismas bells with them and we invited them to come over and enjoy our christmas eve rijst tafel with us.  we were so glad to have some good friends come share christmas traditions with us.

its hard to tell from this picture (the only one i could find in focus), but isaac loved the bells.  he about fell over shaking in so much.

i made a little video and just went back to listen to it.  i can't quite tell what song we were even playing...

the ford's also shared their living nativity tradition with us.  the kids loved dressing up and acting out the Christ child's birth.

we opened our christmas jammies right before bed and got everyone tucked in to be ready for christmas morning!
