we decided sometime last year that we wanted to start an ugly sweater party tradition. the start of residency was the perfect opportunity, so we invited all the residents and their families to join us in our first (hopefully annual) ugly sweater party.
we play games with some of the residents on a regular basis and had talked about the party previously. they really wanted to come, so we scheduled it late in the season so they could make it....which made it so most people couldn't make it....which made for a bit of a small turn out. it was still lots of fun and gave us some good ideas for next year.
isaac's sweater is what originally sparked the idea for the party. not that it's super ugly, but more that we could dress a baby up for the party as well.
cody didn't have a sweater this year, but instead insisted upon wearing his santa coat for most of the evening.

we voted for several categories....
ryan won for ugliest overall sweater.
(he picked out the prize and then was all embarrassed that he was the one who had to wear it)

see that plate in the garbage? it had cinnamon rolls on it at some point. i came around the corner into the kitchen and found isaac sitting there with it in his hands, licking the leftover frosting off. gross, but so funny.
cody and owen loved the reindeer nose. cody wanted to wear it all the time.
we ate lots of awesome food and played holiday charades.
it was a small, but very fun party. hoping for bigger and better next year :)
