once there was a snowman

we've had several days of unusual weather out here this year.  school has already been canceled twice for freezing rain.  seems a little crazy for this wyoming-raised girl - where school was only canceled if the wind chill was 50 below and the snow drifts rose over your head....or maybe it just seemed like it.

school was even cancelled on one of the days i was supposed to work, so we were home warm and cozy.  except that cody insisted on going out to play in the 'snow.'  we got him all bundled up (luckily someone handed down a nice coat to us at some time or another) and he headed out to play.

so thrilled about the 'snow' - not quite....

i did go out long enough to help cody build a snowman.  we set it on a swing and watched it slowly melt away through the course of the day.  cody kept singing 'once there was a snowman small, small, small.'
