cody and isaac slept quick and hard after the long day of driving. cody slept in the tallest bed in the house i think, and has only fallen out once. it sure is nice to have grandma and grandpa down the hall who can't wait to wake up early to snuggle with two small boys and read stories in bed so their mom can sleep just a little bit longer.
we got settled in quick and the boys loved rediscovering all of grandma's toys.
(i'm so sad this turned out blurry cuz isaac gave me such a cute cheesy grin)
cody is beginning to develop a fascination with rocks (as all boys do i think), so he loved to just sit outside and play in the rocks before or after we went anywhere.
grandma and i were so busy working on christmas gifts (for next year), but we found great ways to keep cody and isaac entertained. cody loved to read stories and do puzzles with grandpa.
and he loved to play with 'po-ta-doh'
we did a good amount of baking while we were there as well. isaac was a great helper. i pulled him over in his chair so he could see what was going on, and he found his was right into the drawer and made quite the mess.
we made scones ('stones' according to cody) a few times. cody wanted to watch, so we grabbed his carseat to sit in. at first he was terribly concerned that the cover was off (we washed both car seats after isaac threw up in the car). after we got it put back together, he insisted that he needed to be buckled in - to watch the 'stones' cook. so silly.
cody loved any chance to be grandma's best helper, and more especially to use the watering pots (that he wasn't allowed to touch otherwise).
isaac was just bummed that he wasn't allowed in the arizona room at all and knocked and knocked until grandma and cody came back.
isaac spent several days sick and throwing up. as hard as it is to have a sick baby, i do love how snuggly they get. all he wanted was to be held and snuggled.
i went up to mesa for a day to hang out with annie and teach a class at her house overnight. i left the boys with grandma. luckily isaac was feeling better not too long after i left. cody got really good at doing puzzles while i was gone and did several all by himself over and over again.
nicole came up to mesa to hang out with us as well. annie had a meeting for work in tucson the next day, so after we all had breakfast she had to leave. nicole and i spent the kid-less day shopping and went out to lunch. it is sure nice to have a little bit of a break to just be me, by myself, from time to time. we had so much fun. we just wish annie would have been able to come hang out too.
when i got back, isaac and cody decided to help me get ready for the day. isaac felt so grown up sitting on the stool with my hair clips.
and cody did an awesome job of combing my hairs for me.
we love story time at the library in pima. we were so lucky to be able to go once while we were in arizona. the kids each got to paint a piggy bank to take home. cody became quite a beggar and asked anyone who would listen for some pennies for his piggy bank.
after a week and a half in thatcher, we headed over to tucson to pick up dad!

I'm glad to catch up on your blog! Your parents' house sure has changed since high school/college, but my memories are as fond as ever. This made me miss you and those days a lot.
Also, your boys are, as always, adorable. Love the car seat picture watching stones. :)
