all-you-can-eat!

we had quite a day of all-you-can-eats!  we started the morning off driving the hour and a half over to brenham for the blue bell fun run.  even though we made it an open invitation (country wide), jon and amelia are the only ones who made it out.

they had lots of bananas and oranges to snack on before the race.

plus some super loud tunes, great for jamming!

i gave cody my phone to take a pre-race picture of us.  nice huh?

cody and ryan ran a few sprints and obstacle courses around the trees where we were waiting.  maybe next year he'll be read for the kid's mile.

now, those who know me even a little tiny bit know that i am not a runner.  so why in the world would we participate in a 5k?  the real reason?  all-you-can-eat blue bell ice cream at the finish line.  so good!

cody had at least three ice cream sandwiches i think!

pretty sure ryan had at least six, not to mention all the other frozen treats!  best one?  chocolate covered strawberry bars.  seriously tastes like a chocolate covered strawberry!

we made it back home in time to get changed and drive down to the stake crawfish boil.  we nearly just stayed home since we were pretty exhausted (we stopped for lunch at david and julie's on the way home), but we couldn't pass up an opportunity to partake in this southern tradition.

we ran into our friends, the ford's, as we walked in.

cade (who is about 6) told me that if i didn't know where cody was, he was with him.  cody loves that kid.

they had a little carnival set up inside the stake center for the kids.  there were games like knocking down cans with rubber bands, and plastic cup bowling.

i definitely do not love crawfish, but it is a fun tradition and good enough to try.  maybe next year when i'm 29 i'll like it :)
