atlas

sean and nicole welcomed their first baby to our family on july 13th.  he was about 9 nine days early, so it was quite a shock to me to check my phone after going to the gym and seeing a whole stream of texts from the family. 

he was born at a birth center, so they got to go home after just a few hours.  it definitely takes me days to look that put together ;)

here's a couple 'first pictures' of atlas ray.  we sure love him already!

i made a quick little blessing outfit for him like what i made for cody, isaac, and aubrey's twins.  i have definitely come a long way in making things and adding alterations since i sewed cody's more than four years ago.  we got to go out for the blessing over labor day weekend, so i even got to hand deliver it :)

we flew into phoenix, after a crazy day!  our original flight was delayed by a few and then a few more, and then way more hours.  we finally cancelled our tickets and rebooked on a different airline from a different airport.  since we were flying out of hobby airport and home to bush airport, we worked it out to have aunt julie (who was in houston with spencer after his emergency brain surgery) take us to the airport and then jon and amelia drove our car up to bush.  yep, it was a mess, but we made it to phoenix in one peace, albeit very very tired.  ryan's parents picked us up and we had a nice long lie-in in the morning to catch up on missed sleep.

we had both boys in their carseats on the first leg of the flight (we had a layover in dallas) and isaac loved holding bonnie.

the blessing was sunday in tucson.

and all of the arizona varga's were there - those numbers are quite diminished in the last few months. 

cody and isaac got a little restless, but there were some nice adults with snacks that kept them in check.

atlas looked great :) 

after the blessing, we had some lunch at sean and nicole's.  mom and dad loved having some time to play with bonnie and the boys.

ryan got in some great exercise with two boys. 

we definitely wore sean, nicole, and atlas out, but they still came down to sierra vista to hang out with us on sunday night and monday until we had to leave.

atlas has had some terrible trouble with reflux, so they've been having a rough few weeks. his dr gave them some medication for it that made lots of difference just in time for us to meet him.  hopefully it keeps working and improving!

some day these two are going to be thick as thieves i'm sure.

its so fun to see atlas in things that our baby boys wore.

we had a great quick weekend in sierra vista, but it was even nice enough to play out in the water.

bonnie and atlas got to take their first swim.  it was a little too hot and sunny for me, so we didn't last long.  all the boys came away a little pinked up from the sun :/

when we got to the airport, we came across this fun cutout.  we found a magic treehouse book at the library a month or so ago, and cody has been loving reading them together.  he and isaac spend many mornings playing jack and annie around the house.  quite a thrill to find jack and annie on a poster at the airport!
